Pemuteran open for business as normal

Dear Tourists and Divers

The threat that Mount Agung will erupt is real and we feel for all our friends and families in Karangasem region.  Many of our staff here are from families that were previously relocated after the last disastrous eruption in 1963.

Reef Seen is located on the beach in Pemuteran, North West Bali, about 140km from the volcano.  We are experiencing no effect from the volcanic activity other than holiday cancellations.  Bali's only source of income is tourism and while we understand you have fear of coming into a danger zone, the island community as a whole will still need your precious business to help in the face of a disaster.

Yes, there is an exclusion zone at the volcano (currently 12km) leaving popular spots such as Amed and Tulamben out of bounds.  But Bali has so much more to offer with a nation of the friendliest people in the world waiting to show you: throughout you find spectacular scenery, rice paddies, temples, lakes, waterfalls, to the west the wilder sea has great surfing and here we offer diving and snorkelling on some of the most extensive coral reefs around.

Pretty much all the normal routes to this beautiful island are still operating so we urge you keep your plans to visit. Should the main airport in Denpasar close, here in Pemuteran we are close to the ferry at Gilimanuk for easy transfer off Bali via Java.

Looking forward to seeing you all
